Is it possible for me to book online to have a car the same day?
• Some suppliers will accept a booking online for same day car hire. If a car is available to book, it will be shown as available to you. However, please be aware for administration reasons, we need a minimum of 3 hours notice to process your booking.
Is there a minimum age you need to be to hire a car?
• The standard minimum age you must be to hire a car is 25.
Is the car I select online guaranteed to be the one I receive?
• Where possible we will try to supply you with your chosen vehicle, but cars are placed in groups so if your selected car is not available when you arrive, you will be provided with a similar alternative from the same group. You can check which cars may be offered to you as an alternative when you book. When you choose a car there will be a link which says ‘or similar’, if you click on this link it will show you the alternatives.
Will I receive a confirmation of my booking?
• Shortly after booking you will receive a confirmation email to confirm your booking details in full. Sometimes emails can go to your Spam / Junk folder so please check this, if you still have not received the email, please contact us.
Can I hire a car seat or other extras?
• You are able to do this after your booking has been made by calling the car rental agent direct. You will find the contact number for the agent on your booking confirmation.
Am I able to cancel a booking?
• Yes you can cancel a booking. For a refund you must give at least 48 hours notice (see terms and conditions). If you need to cancel a booking, the only accepted method is through the
Cartrawler Website.
How do I pay for the car?
• Payment will be by a card in the driver’s name, a deposit will be taken when making the booking and then you will pay the balance when you collect the car. Please be aware that some agents require you to pay in full at the time of booking.
Which documents do I need to bring with me when I collect the car?
• You need to bring both parts of your driving licence (for example, the card and the counterpart where applicable), your booking voucher and a credit card which is held in the main driver’s name. If you are unable to provide a valid credit card, please be aware that the car rental agent could refuse to release the vehicle to you. Some agents may also require you to have your passport, so it is advisable you take that with you as well.
How do I know where to collect the car from?
• After you have chosen the car you are interested in hiring, you need to select ‘book’, this will then show you the collection address at the top of the page.
What is classed as a ‘major endorsement’ on a licence?
• A major endorsement is 6 points or more on your licence and you will not be able to rent a hire car. Please be aware that even though you may have less points than that, if they were given through drink driving, or driving without a MOT or valid insurance, you will also not be allowed to rent a hire car.
